Comment from Ellen on stepping down as CEO

I am stepping down as CEO of the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre after a very fruitful and fulfilling 10 years in the position. I have been working on succession planning with the Board of the DRCC since September and I look forward to handing over the position to someone who will enjoy the challenge of taking the organisation to its next stage of development.

The DRCC has been at the forefront of responding to the needs of victims of sexual violence in Ireland since its foundation in 1978. It has been my privilege to work with the Board, Management, Staff and Volunteers, in developing and implementing the DRCC strategy, working towards an ‘Irish society free of rape, childhood sexual abuse and other forms of sexual violence’.

My immediate plan is to take a short break when I step down, towards the end of March 2016, and then to explore some ideas I have about new challenges.

Ellen O’Malley-Dunlop.
