Dublin Rape Crisis Centre will mark 40 years of supporting survivors of sexual violence with a one-day conference in Dublin
23 September 2019
It has been 40 years since Dublin Rape Crisis Centre (DRCC) began its work supporting survivors of sexual violence. To mark the occasion, we will host a one-day conference in Dublin’s Royal College of Surgeons on 7 November 2019 entitled ‘Sexual Violence in Ireland: Past, Present and Future.’
Date: 7th November 2019.
Venue: Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, 123 St Stephen’s Green, D02 YN77 Dublin.
The conference will
- reflect on the origin and role of the Rape Crisis Centre to date.
- look at services seeking to prevent sexual violence and heal the harm it causes, as well as international obligations and accountability mechanisms.
- consider society-wide strategies to combat sexual violence in Ireland, with inputs from service providers, educators, policy makers and activists.
- highlight the voice of survivors of sexual violence in grounding and shaping DRCC’s past, present and future work with interventions from survivors throughout.
Who is the event for?
Activists, policy makers, survivors and the general public.
- A full conference programme is available below.
- We kindly ask that you register for the afternoon breakout sessions when purchasing your ticket. Please note that spaces for these sessions are limited, but we will do our best to place you in the session of your choice.
- Given the limited capacity in the venue, we also ask that no more than five people register per organisation.
- All ticket prices include a light lunch.
