Think back across the past 18 months. These have been extraordinary times. Times that have been full of uncertainty and, for many of us, full of worry and anxiety.
Can you imagine trying to manage all of these worries, on top of the serious trauma of being sexually assaulted? This is the reality for the hundreds of survivors that we work with.

The National 24-Hour Helpline 1800 77 8888 run by DRCC is there for survivors whenever they need us – 365 days a year. Many survivors are deeply traumatised by their assault and need to work this through in one-to-one therapy sessions. Therapy heals.
In 2020, DRCC offered 30% more therapy appointments than the previous year. Yet there are still 357 survivors waiting to see a DRCC Therapist (as of Aug 2021).
Demand is high and we must do more to help those who need it. For the second year running, DRCC’s annual bucket collection has been cancelled, which usually raises €40,000 for the Centre.
