Coping Skills Group Course

Reporting sexual violence of any type to An Garda Siochána and/or waiting for a criminal trial to begin can be very difficult. Sometimes it can bring up feelings of anxiety, powerlessness and confusion that make your existing trauma symptoms even worse.

DRCC has created a course that will help you to develop skills so that you can manage these feelings and symptoms, and to feel stronger and more confident in all aspects of your life.

Is this course for me?

You are welcome to apply for this course if:

  • You are a victim of any kind of sexual violence;
  • You have:
    • made a statement to An Garda Siochana, and/or
    • are awaiting criminal court proceedings to begin;
  • You are over 18 years of age;
  • The group is open to all genders.

When, where and how?

The course runs for 14 weeks, starting in Autumn 2024 and subject to interest, at DRCC’s office at 70 Lower Leeson Street, Dublin, D02 VW13.

It will be face-to-face in a group setting, run by skilled psychotherapists. There will be a nominal fee but this will not be a barrier to anyone attending.
